Assoc. Prof. Snežana Mugoša, MD, PhD, has served as Managing Director of the Institute for Medicines and Medical Devices of Montenegro since February 2022, having been appointed through an open competitive selection procedure for a five-year term.

She graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro, in 2004, with an average grade of 9.69. She subsequently obtained both her Master’s degree and PhD in the field of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics. She completed her specialisation in internal medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, where she also completed a subspecialisation in clinical pharmacology and pharmacotherapy.

She has been with the Institute since 2012. Prior to her appointment as a Managing Director, she served as Head of the Department for Clinical Trials and Medicines Efficacy and Safety Assessment, as well as a Deputy Managing Director of the Institute.

She is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Montenegro. Her professional and scientific research interests encompass clinical pharmacology, pharmacotherapy, pharmacovigilance, pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacogenetics, clinical trials and consumption of medicines. She is involved in national and international scientific research projects, as well as institutional development projects.
